There are over 80 different tie knots – but you only need to know three. You can find instructions here. The Four-in-Hand is the simplest and most versatile knot, slightly asymmetrical and perfect for everyday wear. The Windsor knot is symmetrical and voluminous, ideal for wide shirt collars and formal occasions. The Half Windsor offers a good compromise between elegance and simplicity. Which knot you choose depends on the collar: narrow collars can handle smaller knots, while wide collars like the cutaway collar require a Windsor.

The right tie width depends on your personal style, the occasion, and current trends. We offer two widths: 6.0–6.5 cm for a slim, contemporary look and 7.0–7.5 cm for a classic, elegant appearance. Both options are versatile and easy to combine. As a general rule, the tie width should match the widest part of your lapel. Narrow lapel – narrow tie. Wide lapel – wider tie. To be on the safe side, consider the proportions of your jacket.

It depends on the occasion and your personal style. A tie is the classic choice for business, formal events, and any situation where you want to project a professional image. A bow tie looks more modern, individual, and slightly more casual – perfect for weddings and men with character. A good rule of thumb: a bow tie is appropriate with a tuxedo, while a tie is more suitable for the office. For a wedding, you have complete freedom of choice – both options are stylish.

The more formal the occasion, the smoother and finer the fabric should be.

The tip of the tie should touch the waistband – not extend above it and not hang far below. Our ties have a standard length of approximately 147 cm, which suits most heights. For very tall men from about 190 cm upwards, it can be a bit short depending on the knot – in this case, we recommend the Four-in-Hand knot, which uses less fabric than the Windsor, and our extra-long ties with a length of 170 cm. Tip: The narrow end of the tie should never extend beyond the wide end.
